A Workspace is the primary place you get work done in Open Swarm. It’s a free-form, zoomable canvas where you can spawn agents, embed live apps, open browsers, and arrange everything however you like — all in one place.

What is a Workspace?

A Workspace is an infinite 2D canvas containing cards (agents, views, browsers). You can zoom in and out, pan in any direction, and freely rearrange cards by dragging them. Every workspace is independent — it has its own name, its own set of cards, and its own saved layout. You can have multiple workspaces and switch between them from the sidebar.

Card types

There are three types of cards on the canvas:

Agent Cards

Live chat sessions with an AI agent. Can be collapsed or expanded.

View Cards

Embedded apps — interactive UI generated by agents.

Browser Cards

A full in-app browser, usable by you or by agents.

Layout persistence

Card positions, sizes, and zoom state are automatically saved. When you return to a workspace, everything is exactly where you left it. On first load, the canvas fits to view — zooming and centering to show all cards at once.

Quick start

  1. Open or create a workspace from the sidebar.
  2. Click + in the toolbar (or use your configured shortcut) to launch a new agent.
  3. Drag cards to rearrange. Pinch or scroll to zoom.
  4. Use the toolbar to add views, open browsers, or browse history.
